The Foundation degree in Early Years Practice is ideal for practitioners working in early years settings, whether that be in paid employment or for those undertaking voluntary experience.

As a student on the degree course, you will gain a strong academic grounding in a range of early years theories, policies and procedures, improving your current knowledge and understanding of early years issues, allowing you to be a more effective and efficient practitioner. The degree includes holistic development within early years, early years curriculum, partnership working, safeguarding and leadership and management practice. The degree will also enhance your personal, professional and academic skills, providing additional opportunities for professional development.

Providing the opportunity for students to apply academic theory to practice, the Foundation degree affords students the opportunity to ensure that their knowledge of current legislation and issues within the sector are up to date, providing safe practice and a wide range of career prospects.
