Entry Level 2 Certificate and Diploma in Skills for Further Learning and Employment

This course can help you to gain work skills, personal skills and social development skills.

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

The course will start in September and will take one year to complete.

What will I study?

There will be a range of units to study, which may include:

  • Gardening
  • Craft and woodwork skills
  • Cookery
  • Art
  • Drama
  • English and maths
  • Personal awareness
  • Confidence and self-esteem building
  • Attitudes to work

Many students take regular trips out for meals to celebrate achievements and events such as the end of term. This will also help you to develop your personal and social skills such as handling money and ordering food and drinks.

How is it assessed?

You will be assessed by the completion of unit material and observations.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

You should have preferably completed an Entry Level 1 course, however, individual circumstances may be looked at if this has not been achieved.

What are the course fees?

If you are a school leaver, aged 16-18, (under the age of 19 on or before 31st August 2017), you do not pay tuition fees or examination and registration fees and may be eligible for additional support depending on your financial situation. For more information, please click here.

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

Once you've successful completed this course, you may want to progress onto an entry level 3 course.
