Man in gymThis week our Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing students were treated to a visit from successful personal trainer, Mark Hunt. Mark spoke to the group about his background and what inspired him to train in health and fitness and ultimately create his own business, Mark Hunt PT.

Mark explained that after being signed to Wigan Athletic at the age of 13, he thought his future was set however after sustaining an injury at 16, his potential career as a professional footballer was sadly no longer possible. Several years later, Mark caught the exercise and nutrition bug and soon enrolled at St Helens College on to a Level 2 Fitness Instructor course and then the FdSc Exercise, Health and Fitness degree with University Centre St Helens. He then moved to Salford University to complete his degree whilst working in our gym as a Personal Trainer.

Mark gave our students an insight into the success of his business, speaking at length about the importance of creating a recognisable and reputable brand. The inspiring talk was aimed at giving the Level 2 students more information about the workings of a professional PT as well as providing the chance to ask any burning questions.
