We are incredibly proud of our three Level 3 Beauty students, Amanda, Charli and Sammie-Jo, who have made it through to the WorldSkills UK finals!
Designed by industry experts, WorldSkills UK competitions aim to help young people grow personally and professionally by developing their technical and employability skills and boosting their confidence.
The students were assessed on all areas of their specialist subject, from customer services skills and professionalism to creativity and attention to detail, as they put their skills to the test and went head-to-head with students from across the region.
The students were amongst the top performers in their chosen disciplines, with Nail Technology students Amanda and Charli securing two of eight spots for the Nail Technician category and Beauty Therapy student Sammie-Jo securing a top spot for the Beauty Therapy Practitioner category.
Charli said: "I really enjoyed taking part in the WorldSkills competition! Although it was stressful, it was an amazing experience and I'm looking forward to taking part in the final.
"I'd like to thank my tutor Ann, who has been amazing from the start. She always goes the extra mile for us and makes sure we believe in ourselves."
The students now have until November to refine their skills ready for the finals at Blackpool and The Fylde College, where they will take on a completely different challenge.
