Level 3 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care

This course is suitable for students aged 19 and over.

This qualification is designed for adults interested in enhancing their career prospects or looking to make a career change.

Distance learning allows you to study wherever you are, arranging your studies around your work or home life. You will learn using study materials and online learning resources but you can also connect with other students on your course.

As the course is completed online, the use of a computer or laptop is recommended, however all student have access to our campus libraries including our quiet study spaces and computer suites!

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

This course has flexible start dates throughout the year and should take approximately one academic year to complete.

The flexibility of the course allows you to learn at your own pace.

This course will allow you to develop your knowledge and understanding of the following aspects of working in adult social care:

  • Handling information
  • Health and safety
  • Safeguarding
  • Duty of care
  • Person-centred approaches

How is it assessed?

This is an online distance learning course which is assessed through a series of online assessments.

Full tutor support will be provided by the College throughout the course and you will be able to contact your tutor via telephone, email and Microsoft Teams.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

There are no formal entry requirements. However, it would be an advantage if you have already achieved a level 2 qualification in health and social care.

What are the course fees?

The total cost of this course is £811.

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be able to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover your course fees. An Advanced Learner Loan enables you to study now, pay later. Loan eligibility is not dependent on income or employment status and there is no credit check. Loan repayments do not start until you have finished your course and earn over £25,000 per year. What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

This course provides fantastic progression to further courses depending on your career aims such as the level 2 in Mental Health Awareness. It is also a great qualification for individuals who are currently in a healthcare profession or are looking to launch their career in a healthcare setting.
