Level 2 Diploma in Air Cabin Crew

Throughout the course, you will participate in water survival assessment training, undertake a familiarisation flight, spend time behind the scenes at international airports and develop your knowledge in our very own mock aircraft cabin.

You will also have the opportunity to perform emergency evacuations, fire and smoke cabin procedures, life raft simulation and safety demonstrations to prepare you for your career in the sky.

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

The course will start in September and will take one year to complete.

This course will take place at our Town Centre Campus, Water Street, St Helens, WA10 1PP.

What will I study?

This course will cover the following units:

  • Introduction to airline and aviation operations
  • Airline health, safety and security
  • Airline emergency procedures
  • Crew room duties
  • Role of air cabin crew (on board)
  • Preparation for employment as air cabin crew
  • Aviation health and safety
  • Security
  • Communication

As part of this course, you will have the opportunity to undertake trips, visits and seminars, meeting employers from the aviation industry.

How is it assessed?

You will be assessed by assignments, projects, case studies, observations, exams, presentations and role-plays in the mock aircraft or at an airline training centre.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

You should have two GCSEs at Grade 4 or above in English and maths. You will also need to demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality throughout the course.

Please note, you must be over 18 years old, before the end of March 2024 to complete this course.

What are the course fees?

If you are a school leaver, aged 16-18, (under the age of 19 on or before 31st August 2024), you do not pay tuition fees or examination and registration fees and may be eligible for additional support depending on your financial situation. What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

Once you have completed this course, you will have the necessary skills and knowledge to successfully become employed as air cabin crew or airport operations staff within a busy airport.

Many of our students have secured successful employment with fantastic airlines such as Jet2.com, Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, EasyJet, Qantas International and as passenger service agents in Liverpool and Manchester Airport.
