ScouseScouse recipe

Serves 4

  • 4 carrots
  • 4 potatoes
  • 1 big onion
  • 1 small swede
  • 1.5lb stewing beef or shin beef
  • 2 oxos or beef stock cubes
  • Worcester sauce
  • Brown off the beef

Directions

  • Chop the carrots, swede and potatoes place into a pan of water with the meat.
  • Add in 2 oxos or beef stock cubes and bring to boil.
  • Add in salt, black pepper and touch of Worcester sauce and let it simmer slowly for about 2.5 - 3 hours, stirring occasionally or until the sauce thickens and the vegetables are soft.

Always serve with warm crusty bread and red cabbage.
