Level 2 Certificate in Engineering (Mechanical) (Adult Course)

This course is suitable for students aged 19 and over.

With this course, you will be working in our industry-standard engineering workshops, learning all of the skills and knowledge needed to work successfully in the industry.

You'll study engineering principles and techniques, as well as computer-aided design, milling and turning.

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

The course will start in September and will take one year to complete. You will attend College four days per week.

This course will take place at our STEM Centre Campus, St Helens, WA9 1TT.

What will I study?

You will cover the following units:

  • Environmental awareness
  • Engineering and technical drawing techniques
  • Engineering principles
  • Turning techniques
  • Milling techniques
  • Computer aided drawing

How is it assessed?

You will be assessed by internally set tests and assignments.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

You should have four GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English, maths and science.

What are the course fees?

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

Once you have completed this course, you could progress on to the level 3 Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical).
