As part of National Apprenticeship Week, we welcomed Seddon Construction to our STEM Centre Campus to talk to 52 of our apprentices about the ‘Jordan’s Conversation’ initiative, which aims to encourage people, particularly men, in the construction industry to talk more openly about mental health.

The ‘Jordan’s Conversation’ initiative was created by Seddon in dedication to their painter and decorator, Jordan, who tragically took his own life in 2017, at the age of 25. Seddon set up this campaign dedicated to him to help enable others to have access to support, and to learn that is it OK not to be OK, and to understand how to deal with this.

Vikki Thomas, Bid Team Leader at Seddon, spoke to 52 of our apprentices from Engineering, Painting and Decorating, Plumbing and Bricklaying, who shared their own ideas on how they can look after their mental health, whilst discussing tips on stress management, selfcare, the importance of looking out for others and offered guidance on how to find support.
