Level 2 Certificate in Electrical Installation (Adult Course)
This course is suitable for students aged 19 and over.
This course is for those who want to develop a career in domestic, commercial or industrial electrical installation.
You will learn about electrical installation technology as well as the underlying principles of electrical science, gaining skills and knowledge in specialist areas such as installing wiring systems and enclosures.
When will I start the course and how long will it take?
The course will start in September and will take one year to complete. You will attend College two days per week, from 6.00pm - 9.00pm.
The course takes place at St Helens College, STEM Centre Campus, St Helens WA9 1TT.
What will I study?
During this course, you will cover the following:
- Electrotechnical technology
- Principles of electrical science
- Electrical installation technology
- Health and safety within building services engineering
How is it assessed?
During this course, you'll be assessed through an end of year exam and practical synoptic exercise.
Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?
You should have successfully completed a level 1 Electrical Installation qualification or have achieved a grade 4 or above in English and maths.
What are the course fees?

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?
Upon successful completion of this course, you could enhance your skills and knowledge by undertaking the level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Electrical Installation or alternatively, you could secure an apprenticeship to gain on-the-job skills and experience.
